A
major reduction sale of the Rhaeader herd was held on Wednesday
the 5 th of November 2008 at Old Hall, Dolau, Llandrindod Wells
under instruction from Charmaine Middleton.
Sixty
head of cattle were sold, comprising of cows with calves at foot,
in-calf heifers and maiden heifers.

promises to be the trip of a lifetime - but there is a more serious
side to next
month's
visit Down Under by members of the Welsh Black Cattle Society.
The
three week tour of Australia coincides with the society's second
World Conference in Melbourne and chief executive Andrew James who
will be leading the party of 29 says the underlying aim is to secure
the international future of the breed.

the instruction of Mrs Charmaine Middleton, who is selling the majority
of her cattle which are organic, of an Elite Herd Health status,
within the Premium Herd Health Scheme, and also a closed herd.

is receiving the gift of a Welsh Black china bull from Council Chairman
of the Society Evan Tudor at Dolgellau.

Mr
Evans, of Swn-y-Ffrwd, Bontgoch, Talybont, Ceredigion, has inspected
primarily bulls, but also breeding females, for the Society for
over 20 years. Bulls must be inspected and approved for breed type
and traits before being sold as Pedigree Breeding Bulls.
