Warm welcome from welsh blacks at smallholder weekend
Visitors to the Welsh Black Cattle Society's (WBCS) stand at the RWAS Smallholder and Garden Festival (May 20 & 21) can be sure of a warm and interesting welcome.

These docile, easy to handle animals are ideal for smallholders.

A tremendously hardy breed, the Welsh Black is officially classified as being dual-purpose, producing both milk and beef.

“We are looking forward to meeting people at our stand and spreading the word about the virtues of Wales ' native breed of cattle,” said WBCS Chief Executive, Andrew James.

“This year the Society will have an organic theme, and we will have two organic heifers on display from Messrs TW & EA Davies, Brynonnen, Nanteris, New Quay, Ceredigion.”

“In 2004 we took the award for the ‘Best Dressed Cattle Promotion Stand', and intend to put on a good show again this year,” added Mr James.

The Welsh Black Cattle Society's stand will be located in the main cattle building at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells.
